It gives an introduction to:

Talk by Hollywood Director for SAE Institute students!

 

We are pleased to have Mr Roy Wilson, Director and Producer from Hollywood, to give a talk to our students on his experience with numerous film titles in Hollywood and his involvement with the classic cartoons like "Yogi Bear", "Darkwing Duck", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "Goof Troop" and many others.
 
Companies he has worked for include Walt Disney Hollywood, Fred Wolf Films, MGM Studios, Nickelodeon, and Barcrest Gaming Las Vegas.

The Creative Process Presentation - 19 June 2008

 

A presentation of ideas, discussion, writings and more. Writer & director Lillian Wang, is a graduate of the MFA Directing and Production programme at the School of Theater, Film & Television at the University of California, Los Angeles and will share the full potential of the "creative process".  

Topics include:
- Development of a concept & script
- Creating a storyboard and shot list
- Working with key creative collaborators
- The post-production pathway and more.

Open to SAE Institute students only.

Audio Visual Seminar @ Hwa Chong Institution

 

The "Audio Visual Seminar" held on the
28 - 29 May '08 was organised by the Hwa
Chong Institution and supported by
SAE Institute, Lucasfilm Animation and Eggstory Production.

The 2 day seminar targeted the young minds of our budding talents and brought forth concepts of audio, film, lighting, animation and games in today's interactive digital media (IDM) and entertainment industry.

SAE Institute held two workshops which drew the students' attention towards the
magical transformation of film during post-production using AfterEffects and the
fun-filled design of their own 3D animation using 3D Studio Max.

The event managed to attract a total crowd of 170 students from 33 secondary schools.

SAE Institute Student joins Singapore-MIT Initiative !

 

Current Audio student Erik Sahlstrom was chosen from a list of national candidates to represent SAE Institute and Singapore at the GAMBIT Game Labproject in the USA!

The project is a collaboration between Singapore and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) consisting of a research initiative addressing challenges faced by the global digital game community.
 
With his passion for music and knowledge gained at SAE Institute, Erik will be a great asset to the GAMBIT team and contribute to the betterment of the Audio and Game Industry. We wish him all the best for his internship!

Intellectual Properties workshop for students @ SAE INSTITUTE

 

17th April 2008 @ at 2pm

On 17th April 2008, a seminar on Intellectual Properties (IP) was held at SAE Institute Singapore. The seminar was presented by Samuel Seow and Marcus Liew of Samuel Seow Law Corporation.

Attended by more than 80 students and staff from all departments, the presentation, which lasted almost 3 hours, covered topics on IP with an emphasis on Copyrights and Trade Marks.

Both students and staff found the seminar interesting and informative and as a result, a lively Q & A session ensued before the end of the event.

FREE FILM PRESENTATION BY KAN LUME @ SAE INSTITUTE

 

27th March 2008 @ SAE Institute at 1.45pm

One of the most prolific of Singapore’s new generation filmmakers, Kan Lume has written, directed and produced several TV programmes for Channel 5, 8 and Arts Central. Kan began his filmmaking journey when he was talent spotted to direct a short film for Singapore Optical Trade Association. He was previously headhunted by Channel 5 to work as a Trailer Producer and was recently named by The Straits Times as one of the next wave of Singapore filmmakers to watch out for.
