Graphic Design for Print
This course introduces its students to the world of graphic
design and visual communication. The course equips you
with professional skills enabling you to create and design
your own publications for print. Students will learn how
to implement and edit their own photographs as well as
creating artificial graphics on a professional level.
As this course is focused on practical transfer, students
will have the chance to develop their own graphic design
portfolio which may be useful for future full-time design
course applications or when seeking employment.
Who should take this course?
The 2 months Graphic Design for Print course is intended
for everybody who enjoys experimenting with visual editing
tools for graphics, photos or for layouts. The program
is open to anyone 17 years and above with no prior experience
nor personal equipment.
You would benefit from this course if:
- you want to learn how to create professional designs
and layouts
- you already have skills in that field but you want to
work more efficiently
- you want to develop your visual “eye“
- you are passionate about visual design
- you intend to study further in this area.
This course can be used as a ‘stepping stone’
for students who wish to progress to our more advanced
qualifications, the Diploma of Screen, the Diploma in
Multimedia Production and the BA (Hons) Arts in Multimedia
Arts degree.
Contents: elements of design, fundamentals
of graphics and typography, professional skills in Adobe
Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, design
of symbols and logos, business cards, letterheads, advertisements,
brochures, CD covers, posters and labels
