Program ContentGames Theory and overview of the IndustryProvides an fundamental understanding of the structure and core concepts used in interactive 2D and 3D Games. Students will learn about the operation of the infotainment, edutainment and entertainment industries, the issues currently facing the industry and considers the policies and attitudes of the industry as they relate to the world market.Foundations for 3D graphics and animationProvides an understanding of the core concepts used in 3D object creation, modelling, animation and a fundamental understanding of the 3D animation software.Direct X ProgrammingDirectX is a Windows technology that enables higher performance in graphics and sound when you’re playing games or watching video on your PC. Students will learn how to write a program that access hardware features of a computer.C++ ProgrammingC++ is a powerful language that can be used in a number of applications and is a superset of the object orientated C language. Students will learn how to program DOS, Windows, UNIX based Games.Games DevelopmentStudents will learn the technical skills required to develop software in line with client requirements and software specifications. This is done in different styles for the conventional approach and for incremental development, but always involves coding, and a program review.Game engine developmentStudents will learn how to use Game Engines like Renderware, Auran JET and Nebula.Project ManagementThis module describes the skills and knowledge required to plan and compile a production schedule that identifies required resources and timelines for the completion of all stages of a production. Main topics: Games finance and budgeting, production timelines, legal clearances, copyright, government funding, resource identification.Multimedia and animationStudents will be trained in the application and use of several multimedia and compositing software packages. Main topics: Digitising of images, creating visual effects, compositing still and moving images, basic 2D and 3D animation and 3D modelling applications, creating a DVD, video streaming.And so much more!
