Anna Christin Mallon - General Manager

An independent filmmaker whose wish is to merge commercial film and television production with art, Anna began her film career as an actress and television host in Europe. Fluent in five languages, she set up and led the Film department for SAE Institute Brussels, (Belgium) and managed CitrusTV, her own production company specialising in multi-lingual travel shows and infotainment.

Anna has worked for various productions in countries such as Spain, Belgium, Germany, France and Singapore filling different positions. One of her main strengths lies in post-production, specifically in compositing; although she now mainly fulfils the role of Director or Producer for various projects.

Anna has a Diploma in Digital Film Production and a Diploma in Media Arts (Video Art) as well as a First Class Honours Degree in Media Art. She has been involved and working with SAE Institute International since 2000 and became General Manager of SAE Institute Singapore in February 2007.

Mr. Girishanker’s (Giri for short) interest in music and his expertise in recording, mixing, mastering and re-mixing have led to his involvement in many different local band productions. His credits include the Mastering engineer for bands such as Absence of the Sacred, Bhelliom, TIEN, Koff Koff, The Wreakage, Por Vida, Rita among others.   

As head of the Audio department in Singapore, his course topics include Acoustics, Digital Audio Theory, Advance Recording and Mixing Techniques and Mastering. He trains students on flagship recording consoles, including the SSL AWS 900.

With the school since 1997, Giri started his career as an Audio Engineering student. Upon the completion of his Diploma, he joined the staff as a supervisor, completing his Honours in Audio Engineering, graduating in the Upper 2nd. He began lecturing in Audio in 2000, becoming Assistant Manager of the institute in 2007.

Well versed in the IT and education industry, Alan joined SAE Institute Singapore in 2008.

With years of experience in teaching, games development and IT, Alan started his own IT consultancy firm in 2005 where he provides IT solutions for SMEs. He is also a multi-talented individual championing youth causes and is himself a member of the PAP Youth wing.

Alan is currently pursuing his Masters in Technology (Knowledge Engineering) at National University of Singapore. He graduated from University of Melbourne in 2003 with 1st Class Honours Bachelor in Computer Science.

A native of Australia, Hardie began his career in Sydney where he worked as drummer/ percussionist and producer with the Okapi Guitar Band, performing with African stars Mahotella Queens, Bhundu Boys and Abdul TJ.

Hardie has extensive experience in South East Asia, having worked as a studio engineer in Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian artistes SM Salim and XPDC and producer M. Nasir and in Singapore as a writer for television productions and as a magazine journalist.

With SAE Institute Singapore since 1997, Hardie teaches both audio and multimedia Diplomas and the SAE/Middlesex Degree programs.  His areas of research include styles of contemporary African music, story design for MMORPGs and online instructional design.

Hardie studied Arts at Sydney University, majoring in education and philosophy. He received his audio engineering Diploma from Sydney SAE and also holds a Masters WBL in Online Instructional Design from Middlesex University.

Wan Quan graduated from SAE Institute Singapore in 2004 with a Bachelor in Multimedia Arts.

After graduation, he ventured into the computer games industry and began his 3D career in Taiwan where he worked under the guidance of an experienced foreign comic artist.

To keep himself fresh and creative in this industry, Wan Quan constantly seeks for inspiration from other design industries such as advertising, fashion, paintings, comics, etc.

Wan Quan has received many industry awards including: a certificate of merit in the Graphite Manga Art Competition in 2007 and two certificates of excellence by CG Overdrive in 2006. His works were exhibited at CG Overdrive 2006 at Singapore Expo.

With the motto “Always searching, never destroying”, Imran is a self-taught underwater videographer and photographer, passionate about the sea and its inhabitants. With his cameras in tow, he has been diving for more than ten years in various sites around the Asia Pacific region.

His credits include many published photography works in popular magazines, including Photo Video Imaging, Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver Australasia and Madam Chair. His work has also been featured on the web, at such sites as NDC Manado and KM Bidadari, among others.

In 2003 Imran enrolled in SAE Institute to refine his filmmaking abilities. Upon graduating the following year, he traveled the region experimenting with different photography and videography techniques. He joined SAE Institute in Singapore as Lecturer for Film in 2007.

Our longest serving faculty member, Kenneth has extensive experience as an audio instructor. With the institute since 1995, he has contributed to the development of the audio curriculum in addition to teaching.

His course topics include Tape Editing, Audio Consoles, Microphone Techniques, Multi Track Recording, Computerized Audio Editing, and Digital Audio, Multimedia Introduction, Project Planning and Development, Multimedia Authoring, Development of Computer Based Training Applications and Audio for Multimedia among others.

Self-described as always having been musically inclined, Patrick is a self-taught musician, studying at the Yamaha Music School as a youth. Well versed in the local media industry scene, he has worked as an Audio/Visual Engineer at premier studios in Singapore, including Cue Vision, Video Headquarters Singapore (VHQ), Digipost, Asia Broadcast Center and Caldecott Productions International.

Patrick has also served as the Sound Engineer for various Theatre productions in Singapore, including Theatre Works – Mixed Signals (Sound Design), Actors Theatre Circle – Fictitious Island in the Sun (Sound Design and Live Mix), The Stage Club – Percival (Sound Design and Live Mix) and The Tourism Awards at Neptune Theatre.

Experienced in the audio and music industries, Kevin has worked on the design and production of numerous television trailers, documentaries, corporate videos, local short films and local bands' EP (extended play) and music videos. Well-versed in the local music scene, he has also worked with various organisations like Sentosa, Bang Productions Singapore, MINDEF and Animagine Pte Ltd, playing different production roles from sound engineer to music scorer and sound designer.

Kevin graduated from SAE College Byron Bay, Australia in 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Recording Arts.  He joined SAE Institute Singapore as Lecturer and Supervisor for Audio Engineering in April 2008. His areas of expertise include sound design, music composition, audio recording and editing.

Lin Wan Quan – Animation & Games Coordinator

With years of experience in video post production, animations and design, Chee Yong has worked on the design and production of numerous television shows, promotional programs and television commercials. He has also worked with major advertising agencies, helping creative directors, art directors and copywriters to visualize their concepts.

Chee Yong has extensive experience in curriculum planning for both short, intensive courses for industry professionals; and also for full-time courses at the diploma and degree level. He has conducted numerous trainings for local polytechnics, international design schools, advertising agencies, production houses and TV stations.

Chee Yong received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from NUS and has been training and lecturing at the SAE Institute in Singapore since 1997. His areas of expertise include graphic design, NLE, compositing and 3D.

Loup has been passionate about music and cinema since he was young. Under the influence of his parents who worked in the cinema industry as set designers, Loup began his film career by working as a special effects assistant in Brussels.

After high school, Loup travelled around Asia (India, China and Southeast Asia) with his microphone and digital recorder. He gave his travel recordings to a music producer friend who spurred him to experiment with audio-visual techniques. He then went on to VJ for a few years in Belgium.

Upon completing his Bachelors in Performing Arts, Media and Communication Techniques at Institute of Media Arts in Belgium, Loup continued to pursue his dream by working as a special effects supervisor and 2D/3D animation designer.

In 2002, Loup joined at SAE Institute Brussels as a freelance Digital Film and Animation Lecturer. Before relocating to Singapore in 2007, Loup worked for RTL, one of the most established TV channel in northern Europe, as a motion graphic designer.

An avid gamer who always keeps up-to-date with the latest trends in gaming industry, Gibson has more than 4 years of experience in game and web development.

After spending 7 years in the Republic of Singapore Navy as a senior technical specialist, Gibson left the radar electronics industry to pursue a career in IT before joining SAE Institute Singapore as a lecturer.

During the 3 years working as an application and game developer, Gibson played a part in the production of many mobile games including: Behind The Lines, Patriots 1776, Train Empire, Elven Legends, Deep Quest, etc.

Gibson is passionate about sharing his knowledge of game development with his students as he finds great satisfaction in teaching. He hopes to nurture competitive game developers that can contribute to Singapore’s up-and-coming gaming industry.

Lionel’s current short film, entitled Crossroad, was shot on Hi-Definition video and has just won the Audience Choice Award 07 as part of Digital Film Fiesta 2006 (by Panasonic and Media Development Authority of Singapore).

Graduated from SIM/University of London with a BCS in Economics, 2nd Honours, he followed his passion and his intense interest in film and went on to pursue post-graduate Directing at the New York University in 2001. He joined the SAE Institute as a freelance Film lecturer in 2006.
