SAE Students volunteer at Asian Festival of First Films

SAE Institute Singapore is proud to be a supporter and film sponsor for this year's Asian Festival of First Films. AFFF invited all local SAE students to participate in this film festival by being volunteers which is a great opportunity for them to see how a film festival is run and to meet famous film makers. Besides issuing them a paper for their resume that they were a volunteer in this festival, AFFF will also provide them with free screening tickets and other goodies !!!

SAE Students at Indoor Stadium for exciting Internships with Whitewolf Media

SAE Institute has recently sent some film and audio students for exciting internships within the live broadcasting sector with Whitewolf Media. They assist the Whitewolf Media crew with Motion Graphics and Live Broadcast Production for the Australian NBL Tournement held in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This is an exciting opportunity for these media students as training within this sector is rare and SAE Students were exclusively selected by the Producer David Tully.

What a credit!!!!! Congratulations to the team of Studios 301 Cologne. SAE Institute proudly announces another top act at its world class recording facilities. In early August 2006 Robbie Williams decided to spend two of his free days (he is currently on a world tour) at Studios 301 Cologne to do some recordings (maybe for his next album?)

SAE graduate wins second grammy

SAE GRADUATE WINS 2ND GRAMMY

SAE would like to congratulate 2003 graduate, José “Hyde” Cotto on his most recent success: winning another Grammy. Jose won this time for his work recording and mixing Daddy Yankee’s latest album “Barrio Fino”. Jose has also had a Grammy nomination for Vico C’s album, “Desahogo”. Students produce for MediaCorp



Students from the Digital Film of SAE are now working closely with Arts of Entertainment Pte Ltd to produce the latest variety programmes that will be air over MediaCorp TV12 Vasantham Central at early next year. It will be a nine episodes of dramas, music videos and games hosted shows. Our Students will be assisting the whole production process during this one and half month attachment period. They will be working and learning in this industry-based attachment programme with scriptwriters like and directors whom are much sought after in the local media industry.

SAE Institute Singapore is proud to become the only south east asian audio-visual college which provides students with world class SSL technology. Since 2005 SAE serves as the worldwide exclusive "SSL Approved" facility for AWS 900 training. From december on, this brandnew 24 Track Mixdowm/Mastering studio will be opened exclusively for SAE students.

Oct 2005 - SAE Institute Singapore welcomes 45 new students which started their Diploma and Degree Courses in Audio Engineering and Film Making. From October on, students will enjoy some exciting new equipment as well as a new enhanced curriculum. SAE Institute invested in 6 new G5 Imacs and a new G5 Final Cut Pro Workstation. SAE Showreel at Cathay Cineleisure

Watch out for the latest showreel of SAE Singapore students' work at Cathay Cineleisure, Orchard Road. This popular spot has over 800,000 people walking past every month, and is located in one of Singapore's busiest cinema complexes.

Starting on 15th July 2005, SAE Film students will have their work featured on 4 large Plasma screens situated in this area. Every new month will feature a different students work, providing excellent showcase opportunities.

Yamaha Asian Beat Competition 2005

SAE Singapore is sponsoring a FREE diploma course to the winner of the Yamaha Asian Beat Competition 2005. This band competition is one of the premier showcase events in Singapore, promoting local talent.

Finals date is on November 20th 2005. SAE students are likely to do "live" recording of the event as a group project.

Mohd gets more than he bargained for...

Mohd Siddiq Harris decided to come to the SAE Careers day on the 18th of June. Not only did he find out all about exciting careers in the film and audio industries, he walked away with the great prize of an Apple Mini iPod.

Others who attended the Careers day received vouchers from HMV and Golden Village. The Careers day was held at a time when SAE Singapore is getting some fresh faces and a fresh approach. Lots more changes in the future...stay tuned.

SAE Singapore Welcomes New General Manager

SAE Singapore is pleased to announce the arrival of a new General Manager. Mr Jason de Wilde is an Australian and has been involved with SAE since 1989. He has a wealth of Training, Management and Audio Engineering experience both in and out of SAE.

He was the Manager of SAE Sydney for 9 years, and then moved on to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre where he was the Manager of the entire Audio Visual Dept.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of raising the profile of SAESingapore, and to revitalise the school. We have a lot of exciting plans in the pipeline which I am sure will make SAE Singapore an excellent place to prepare for a career in Film or Audio."

Studio 4 re-equipped

The studio has just been totally re-equipped with a new Pro Tools rig. The new installation includes a Mac G5, a Pro Tools HD1 system, and a Digidesign/ Focusrite Control 24. The surround capabilities of the studio will be used for students final recording work as well as post production assignments.
